Vivian Jiang Yuan
Merchandise Planner and Data Analyst
I’m Vivian. I have worked in the fashion industry for over 9 years with experience in product development, merchandising, planning and sales. I obtained a Master of Fine Art in Fashion Merchandising from the Academy of Art University in 2010. Since finishing my master’s degree, I have developed strong business analytical skills while working for MUJI USA and Richline Group. I’m currently looking for new challenging opportunities to gain more experience in the merchandise planning industry.
I started my career at Gem Stone King as a merchandiser working on design and product development for the fine jewelry collection. During this time, I increased sales by 20% which led the brand to be ranked in the top ten jewelry sellers on Amazon. I then chose to become an allocator and planner at MUJI USA where I was responsible for overseeing 5 divisions including women and men's apparel, accessories, bags & shoes, and intimates. In this role I coordinated with the merchandising team, store managers, marketing department, and logistics in order to ensure financial goals were met and on budget. Within my first year I was able to increase sales 180% while also increasing profit margin by 8%.
My background and specialization is in sales analysis as well as sales and inventory forecasting. Most recently I have accepted a position to be the demand planner at Richline Group, where I am responsible for a $500 million sale plan for Macy’s and Kohl’s private jewelry.

About me
I moved to New York in my early 20s, where I was surrounded by amazing creative brands in fashion, accessories and jewelry, which inspired me to fulfill my passion through merchandising. I fell in love with the process, and knew I wanted to be a part of the merchandise planning industry.
My passion lies in helping brands and retailers become successful by analyzing sales, margin, inventory data, and improving cash flow and ROI. While brands need creativity, they also need profit which is driven and determined by a commercially minded merchandise planner.
I love to tell a product’s story with numbers. I am passionate about analytics and love to take data and create something positive for brands and retailers, and I want to make an impact on the business and see tangible results, businesses grow and evolve over time.
